Sisters Nina (12) and Natasha (17) are putting aside their fears to jump off the Sky Tower in a fundraising event that coincides with Baby Loss Awareness Week from October 9 15.

“I’m really, really excited and really, really ne toms rvous because I’m jumping 192m straight

down from the top of Auckland’s Sky Tower falling at 83km/hour,” says Nina, “but we want to raise money for Sands Manukau so they can keep helping parents when their baby dies. We’ve had three babies in our family die and Sands really helped my mum.”

“Sands helped me so much during the time I was pregnant with Noah,” says mum Sarah.

“Knowing he was sick and wouldn’t survive, planning his funeral while he was still alive

inside of me was heartbreaking. Sands gave me the support I needed by listening to me

and letting me share toms what was going on. All I could do was love my son and wait for his heart to stop beating.

“I joined Sands Auckland Central soon after Noah was born. I wanted to give something

back and help others going through a similar thing. Starting Sands Manukau was my way of helping as there is limited support for grieving families in this region. These bags contain various memory making items that enable parents hold on to tangible memories of their baby, when everything else seems to be taken away. toms

Care bags contain a memory box, disposable camera, ink pad (to make hand and foot prints), teddies and special memory books among other things.

“Our goal is to give a care bag to every family w toms ho is grieving the loss of their baby,” says Sarah, “to do so we need to raise $10,000.”

Sands Manukau receives no government help and relies on grants, donations and fundraising events throughout the year.

The Attraction to Designer Handbags

Picture it, you’re walking through the mall when you look to your left and see a young lady who is maybe in her twenty somethings wearing casual clothing and carrying an over sized purse. What is plastered all over it? A small print that consists of two G’s. You may think to yourself, “I bet that was expensive,” take note, and move on. A few minutes later, you notice another lady who is older in appearance with a smaller bag that has double F toms ‘s on it. You think the same thing, take note once again, and continue walking. Next comes another young lady with a black, patent leather bag that contains the iconic double C bedazzled on it. What is the association between all of these ladies? Designer handbags. They have the ability to toms appeal to everyone from almost all walks of life and make the innocent passerby do a double take. But what is the drawing point? Most people want to complain of price when they are brought up in conversation, but have most of these people ever actually owned one? Probably not. So what is it about purses with official stamps and logos all over them that makes us die with envy whenever we see one? Let’s explore.

First of all, in order to understand the lure, the reasoning behind owning a handbag must be realized. The first obvious point is to carry things. A girl needs her make up, cell phone, keys, breath mints, and a few other staple items that would never all fit into pockets (if they are even available). This is where the handbag comes in to save the day. It can be huge for those who are unwilling to minimize their carry load or dainty for an evening out with the beau when all that is needed is extra lip gloss for the post smooch touch up. There are shapes, sizes, and styles for all occasions, which brings up the second point.

Handbags are the perfect way for a girl to passively (or not so passively) show the world her personality. A teen with a carpeted messenger bag says she is artsy, a lady with a sturdy leather strap says she is ready to take care of business, the girl from the mall with the patent leather claims fashionista, and the bubbly girl with a heart purse receives an eye roll. But what does someone with a designer handbag want people to think? Or is she even thinking about others’ opinion when she selects the new Gucci Suki? To be honest, it depends on the person.

I said that a woman wants a purse for utility, to carry things. If it is going to work as our daily suitcase, it better be up for a challenge. Weathering the storm of everyday life can take a toll on us, let alone a few pieces of cloth sewn together. This is one of the greatest attributes of going designer, they are made of rich materials that can withstand almost anything that is thrown their way. What does this mean? They last for a long time, a VERY long time; whereas, cheap or off brands wear out easily and must constantly be replaced. So if someone wants to complain about the price of purchasing luxury, counter their argument with the idea of replacement costs. Since designer bags are known to be dependable and long lasting, this is where most of the appeal surfaces for the woman who isn’t actually look toms ing to turn heads or spark attention whenever she steps out of the house. She just wants durability and functionality, something that designer bags are made for.

Then we have is the stereotypical response for why people go designer they want the social status. Let’s be honest, if you see a girl with a cloth bag that is worn on one side and has initials that seemingly stand for nothing on it and then see a girl with the latest Fendi, who are you secretly going to want to be? The girl with the Dr B tote. That’s because no matter where someone is in the world, they are always striving to be in the social class just above theirs. The only exception is for those who have already attained the ultimate status; however, they must take measures to maintain their elite position. Since everyone knows that designer handbags are expensive and not for the common folk, this creates the simplest and easiest way to seem superior among peers. The best part? All that is required is throwing a bag over your shoulder and suddenly the image of sophistication and superiority is created.

Now that we have figured out what the attraction to designer bags is, hopefully you will seem a little less puzzled the next time you see a hot, young thing in stilettos carrying the same label as your durability and comfort focused grandmother.

The Attraction of Replica Handbags

Anxiety Disorders: nature versus nurture By ter001The attraction of replica handbags is that you can own a handbag that looks like a Prada without the price tag of a Prada. You still get the same admiring glances because unless you are an expert, you cannot tell the difference. Even Prada would find it difficult to tell the difference. You can purchase any Prada you want and literally knock a zero off the price.

The great thing is that you are not buying a fake. A replica is not a fake: a fake will look a bit like a Prada leather handbag but will be made from vinyl with plastic clasps. A replica, on the other hand, is real leather and made exactly the same as a Prada: the same stitching, the same hardware, the same logo and the same signature lin toms ing. A replica Gucci Signature Hobo will have the GG signature fabric and the same leather tag.

Why spend all your hard earned money on the real thing if you can get something practically identical for a zero less? Replica handbags and purses are just as noticeable as the genuine article, and get just as many envious glances. Replicas use the same high quality materials as the originals, while fakes do not. If the Jimmy Choo purse is made from white suede or hot pink leather, the replica Choo is of white suede and hot pink leather.

It is stitched the same way in the same places, with the same logo and the same clasp. A Jimmy Choo Ramona replica has the same clasp and number of buckles in the same places as the real Jimmy Choo Ramona. No matter what replica handbag you purchase, you will not be able to tel toms l that it is a replica, and neither will anybody else unless they work with the real things day in day out. Even the stores that sell the real things find it difficult to spot the difference in some cases there are no differences. Same design, same materials, made up the same way. What is there to tell?

While many fakes will claim to be the real thing, replicas do not, and are clearly advertised as replicas. There is no going on, and while they are not the real thing but look like it, neither do they profess to be. Replicas admit to being exactly that: a replica of the real thing, and their price tag indicates the fact. Certainly they look great, and you will look great with one, but you should only purchase what you need.

Many fashion purses are not practical. They don offer enough room for all your needs. Before deciding which to purchase, make a list of everything you will want to carry in your handbag, and then make sure that they will all fit in the bag of your choice. Replicas might sell at a fraction of the price of the real thing, but they are still well made with genuine materials and they don come cheap.

Expect to pay around $200 $500 for a good replica of an expensive handbag. Sure, it won cost $3,000, but even $300 is a lot to many people so make sure that you can use what you buy. Before purchasing a replica handbag, take a close look at what you currently use. What is good about it and what does it lack. Do you need an extra pocket or two? Would you prefer a shoulder strap with it, or would a tote fit your fashion sense better?

Base your decision on what you are using now. And then purchase a replica fashion handbag that meets your needs. There are enough designer bags on the market for at least one to meet your needs. If not, then you are a very hard person to please! You are being offered any designer bag on the market at a tenth of the price and nothing suits you!

However, that is the attraction of replica handbags: the fact that you can get anything you want, and that you can get a bag that ticks all your boxes for a fraction of the price of the original. Not only that, but it not a fake made from leather, but made from the real material and looking like the real thing. When you feel that lovely soft Nappa leather you would never believe it wasn a genuine Prada. Especially when the buckles look real and the label is just so perfect.

No matter who your favorite designer is, you won fail to find a replica of your favorite handbag, and if you can afford the real thing are you going to refuse something that looks exactly like it, so much so that you couldn choose the real one from the two? Of course not! So deci toms de which handbag you would love to carry on your shoulder or in your hand, and go out there and buy it. You will not o toms nly feel a million dollars, but you will also look it! That the attraction of replica handbags.
